Rental services we love
We believe we speak for the majority of us when we state the following: Some pieces in our closet are rarely being used. Some garments are only suitable for certain occasions and they don’t get to see daylight as often as we may have thought they would when we bought them. Rentable fashion is something we’ll most probably see more from, in different categories and in different styles. By sharing our closets with each other, or renting new pieces temporarily we’re making change together. Hopefully it’ll be more and more normalized not to own every piece of accessory or garment we’re using, and instead take part in a circular way of building your closet. Let’s get to know this concept a bit better by introducing these listed businesses down below.
Enjoy and rent away!
It’s Re:Leased
This closet and assortment, that’s rentable, is always stacked up on delicious pieces of fashion. First you create an account, then you pick your three favorites for the month. They deliver to Stockholm, Gothenburg, Malmö and Lund (so only nationally so far).
”The garments we offer are meant to be taken out for a dance or two, so don’t be afraid to use them! If something should happen with your garment - just let us know and we’ll handle it.”
So - Go to that party in your rented piece of garment, join that dinner and don’t hold back because it’s rented. t’s Re:Leased started out as a single rack of friends’ discarded clothes in a storage space behind the laundry room of Johannas co-op bundling. Blazers, knits, shirts & blouses, tops & tees and dresses. These are some of the categories they offer. Take a look for yourself and rent your next outfit!
Hack Your Closet
https://www.hackyourcloset.com/
Sweden and France are the countries who can enjoy Hack your Closet’s assortment, but soon it’ll be available in several other European countries so keep your eyes open!
”If we use an item on average 8 times, how do we get to 60 uses?” that’s what they ask on their page, and their solution is to share the same closet.
It’s all about your own preference of style that you share with Hack Your Closet, then they use technology to source garments that match your preferences but also match at least 15 other closet hackers. Smart, right? Hack Your Closet exclusively uses second-hand items, overstocks, samples or dead stocks. If you’re interested in more facts, numbers and knowledge regarding the fashion industry they provide a lot for you to read on their page.
Gemme
This platform enables fashionistas to share their closet, basically a platform where you can enjoy and consume fashion, with no harm to the environment. Balenciaga, Bottega Veneta, The Row, and Acne Studios are some of the gorgeous brands you’ll notice in the assortment. Instead of spending a lot of cash on one high fashion garment or accessory, rent it - which also enables you to try and wear different brands! Let’s say you’ve already decided on a hot outfit for a dinner party but you can’t seem to match any of your clutches or handbags to go with it. Go rent a bag from Gemme for the night! Same with shoes, accessories and complete outfits. Choose if you want to rent the piece for 1, 3, 7 or 14 days in the booking calendar, wait for the owner(s) of the item(s) to accept your request and then you’re ready for any occasion!
