Starting a few years back, we’ve seen many new companies and small designers popping up in the fashion field that has one thing in common: they don’t take textiles for granted AND they’ve decided to use what’s already there without any use of new raw material. They collect, save and use fabrics destined for incineration or landfill and turn them, or in other words remake them into something new, also called upcycling.
YEAH RIGHT!! This Japanese remake brand started making clothing collections using used items in 2005. They carefully select what type of material and clothes to work with, one by one. Then wash, disassemble, cut, design and sew the garment.

Remake Stockholms Stadsmission
Remake Stockholms is Stockholm Stadsmission's fashion brand and is run as a non-profit social enterprise with work integration as its goal. Production and design take place in our studio in Farsta Strand. The material they use comes from gifts donated to Stockholms Stadsmission.
Alma combines her interest in sustainability and sewing by creating clothes and accessories made from recycled fabrics and materials.The clothes that you’ll find in the shop have all been something else; a tablecloth, curtain or just an old fabric.
