As a nerd for sustainable fashion, I’ve realized that we all have different ways of searching for inspiration and knowledge. Some people spend hours on Pinterest while others watch documentaries. In my latest “late hour scrolling”, searching the internet on the subject I caught my eye on #:s. I started to follow some of them on Instagram and wanted to share them with you. #

#NoNewClothes by Remake

With the No New Clothes campaign Remake want people to consume less new products and create new behaviors. The # inspires people to either buy upcycling or vintage instead of fast fashion. The campaign also encourages to replace the consumption behavior with actions like swap or rent instead of buying,

#Whomademyclothes by Fashion Revolution

This # is part of a worldwide campaign by the Fashion Revolution. The campaign encourages people to ask brands Who Made My Clothes?  Fashion Revolution believes in people’s power and on their website you can email brands asking direct as well as you can download posters with the question Who Made My Clothes, to use o social media with the # and tag the brand. The aim of the campaign is to push brands into being more transparent about where their clothes are being made, as a step towards a more fair and safe industry.

#LovedClothesLast by Fashion Revolution

Another fantastic # by Fashion Revolution is #LovedClothesLast. This # is creating a love story for the clothes you already own, they encourage you to write a love letter, share a shared memory, and tell the world why this item means a lot to you. With this # Fashion Revolution want to celebrate the way we should all care about our clothes and let us fall back in love with our once favorite items.

#prelovedclothing

I Don’t know the background of this #, but its pure magic. It’s like a warm hug of colorful second-hand inspiration. Not only does the feed of colors make you happy, but I’ve also realized this is quite a good way of finding selected second-hand shops around the world - a good thing for inspiration and if you’re planning a trip and want to find some local treasures.

#zerowastefashion

Neither this # I know the background of. Under #ZeroWasteFashion you will both find a creative journey of people’s passion for craft and fashion as well as selected brands proud of their zero-waste production. Its a mix of DIY and serious brands ready to take on the market. I like this # because it’s inspirational on different levels, it makes me want to be more creative with textile waste at home and it also shows that the circular business models are on the rise.
