Residus - words of a company effected by the Coronavirus crisis
I had a conversation with my dear friend Elin Mohlander, the founder of Residus, about how the business are doing and the future of Residus. Many small-scale brands and enterprises that focuses on sustainability are already in a vulnerable position. They’re struggling to take market shares in a sector dominated by cheap fast fashion and companies not taking their social and environmental responsibility. Now when the economic crisis is here due to the Corona-virus, sustainable brands are facing even more difficult times and not many of them know if they will survive.
In what ways are your brand effected by the Coronavirus-crisis?
As a small brand within the fashion consumer sector we are hit hard by this crisis. Fashion companies is hit hard by this even those who work for a better and smarter way of consumption. When stores have no customers they can’t pay their bills and the brands will then suffer from this. This is a unique situation and will probably last for a while.
What are your highest priorities and strategies at the moment?
To focus on good service and be there for our customers. Find other solutions as personal shopping in our showroom, always free shipping and returns online and easy home deliveries. We are trying to find ways to collaborate with other companies and people to be able to ride out this storm.
What can one do that loves your brand and feel like they want to support?
Encourage people to support their local brands and small businesses. A lot of people suffer right now so it’s really important that we are helping and supporting each other in these turbulent times.
