Mayd In Chyna can also mean ordering ethically made clothes
If and American brand is playing with the concept “Made in China” and consider themselves to be a political, environmental and social enterprise that promises to serve people, the planet and animals, you have to look them up right?
At the first glimpse of their website it’s obvious that they really want to appear as a sustainable brand, using words as ethical, vegan, transparent, material sustainability, promises, pledges and so on. It sounds very good but I need more than that to be convinced. It was not until I could read about their supply chain, how fibres are sources (like USDA organic certified), then spinned in North Carolina and Georgia and then some are dyed according to GOTS standards. They seems to use standards and certificates whenever possible and have a close relationship with family own businesses.
What really makes this brand keep their promises is the fact that you ordering clothes according to your body-types and it takes 8-12 weeks for them arrive. That’s an impressing business model really contributing to the change from Fast fashion to Slow fashion.
I hope you can read all about your item of clothes when they arrive at your door step and if that’s the way things are, I will say - bravo! Well done Mayd in Chyna.
