Cibelle Eyewear are designed in Florida by Agustina Cybel but produced in Italy by a smaller team. The brand want to change the way we look at eyewear with their campaign #BeAnOutlier. The design is meant to be anything from normal with several colours and style to fit a diversity of women, being proud over their uniqueness.

When it comes to sustainability the brand is clearly doing a good job by keeping the supply-chain short and simple. The company claims that the workers are getting their fair salary and they have been participating in the campaign #WhoMadeMyClothes (using #WhoMadeMyEyewear instead of course). However, since the brand doesn’t seem to use any standard or certification, those claims are hard to prove.

Materials are stated to be sourced in a sustainable manner without any declaration of materials being used.

For every purchase a tree is planted in collaboration with One Tree Planted!

Cibelle surely has a wonderful design, attitude and approach towards diversity, women and sustainability, but that doesn’t mean they really are a 100% ethical brand, at least not by paper.

However, for those who are looking for a better eyewear brand this is surely a good alternative. Honestly, I love their design.
