It's all about shoes and jackets

It’s not until now I understand why all my fashion enthusiastic friends are talking about shoes and jackets as the most important closet items. If you live in Sweden a large portion of the day is about dressing warm due to the cold weather. How you feel about yourself when you step out from the from door is about how you feel about your winter clothes. In my case, I used to spend so little time in Sweden during the darkest months that I didn’t mind looking miserable. I actually had the same winter jacket for 15 years! Can you imagen, a black oversized jacket that I bought when I was 14 years old which stayed with me until I was 29 years old.

Now my life has changed! I have managed to live in the same apartment for a year and it’s the first time I’m enjoying creating a useful long-lasting winter wardrobe.

To find sustainable options haven’t been easy when it comes to shoes and jackets. Second hand haven’t served me well in this aspect but fortunately there are brands being better then others.

This jacket from Brixtol is my new sweet darling. I absolutely love it! It’s not perfect from a sustainability aspect, but I like how Brixtol is making an effort with production in England, European wool, polyester from recycled sources and so on. This one has recycled wool in it.

I see jackets as an investment - an item that will stay in my closet hopefully for a decade. How does your jacket-closet look like?
