Tell us about yourself?

I’m a fashion re-designer, secondhand clothing enthusiast, content creator and creative in general. I love drawing, painting, crafts, fashion upcycling - anything hands on! I also really love numbers/maths having studied a maths and management studies degree (which most people are surprised by) so I have a special balance of both left and right brain!

What’s your relationship with clothes?

I love clothes, especially bright colours, bold prints, quirky unique pieces and co-ordinates. I use clothes as my main form of self expression so every outfit showcases my mood, vibe and inspiration of that day. I haven’t always had much disposable income so charity shops were my haven when I started college and blogging over 10 years ago and then I became obsessed with one off and vintage pieces, and having items that no one else owned.

How would you describe your style?

Bold, bright, quirky and edgy with a splash of the 90s.

Any favourite items?

I have a few vintage pieces I’ve had for years which I’m obsessed with. I’d say currently my fave is my bright red bomber jacket which has a red lace-up back detail

How would you describe your closet?

Colourful and well organised.

Where do you find inspiration?

TikTok and Pinterest!

Do you have a style icon, if yes, who?

I’m obsessed with Solange and everything she does - music, art, fashion as well as Erykah Badu and Rihanna cos she makes anything look good.

What is a sustainable closet for you?

A mix of secondhand, clothes made from sustainably-sourced or recyclable materials and upcycled pieces.

What do you think about the fashion industry in general?

I think it needs government regulation urgently. There needs to be benchmarks, rules and environmental standards put in place that ensure supply chains aren’t contributing to the climate change issue.

What can one do that seeks to create a more sustainable closet?

Try and shop less fast fashion, research more sustainable brands and alternatives, give secondhand shopping a go (in store, Depop, etc) are some easy starting points.
