Why we love them: Such a pure and humble brand and even after just doing this interview, we feel so close to Lovanna, without even having touched the product itself. Production within Europe with good conditions is something we value very high and we just can’t wait to try Lovanna’s lingerie and add some ethical underwear to our sustainable closets.

What is Lovanna and why did you start?

Lovanna Lingerie is a sustainable lingerie brand from Finland. Its main idea is to offer eco-friendly and ethical lingerie that boost women’s confidence and feel super comfortable. I found it difficult with my friends to find lingerie that is eco-friendly, comfortable and beautiful to our tastes. Because designing is my passion and I have always wanted to be an entrepreneur, creating my own brand felt like a natural choice. Also, the time felt right. People wish to have more eco-friendly options and I had a possibility to offer them.

What is your sustainability profile?

Our sustainability profile consists of eco-friendly materials and ethical EU-productions. Also, we strive to positively influence people’s self-esteem and body image with our products and pictures.

How and where are the products produced?

Our lingerie are made in Latvian and Portuguese factories and our night- and loungewear are made in Finland by a local seamstress.

Your best selling product?

Glow bralette has been our best-selling product. It fits for many kinds of bodies and feels air light.

Where do you find inspiration?

I find inspiration from different body shapes and skin tones. I like to design lingerie that softly follows the lines of the body and blends with the skin tones under clothing.

What have been and are the major challenges?

For us the major challenges have been finding the manufacturers who understand our style and are able to produce our products with the details and eco-friendly materials we would like to use.

What has been and are the largest gains?

The biggest gain has been interviews in the Finnish top media. That helped us to reach many new customers and some cooperations.

What do you think needs to change in the fashion industry to make it more sustainable?

Cycles of fashion trends are too quick. Long-lasting trends would be very welcome. I think people might be more likely to pay from ethically made products if they could know they are shopping for years instead of a few seasons.

What would you advise consumers to do who seek to create a sustainable closet and lifestyle?

My advice is to find your own timeless style and learn how to care for your clothes and products.

Best thing about Lovanna?

Best thing about Lovanna is the pursuit of doing good. Every time I succeed to change fashion industry to more ecological direction, boost people’s confidence or create a fair job in the production chain that makes me very proud of my brand
