Trendless Vintage Pieces that will make your wardrobe smile

We are all so trapped in the idea of being trendy and fashionable, however, style and fashion are two different things. I believe that fashion should be seen as an investment and it is related to our aesthetics. My aesthetic is a blend of sporty chic and old-money aesthetics, do you know yours? I’ve collected some personal favourite pieces, including their history. They all fit with a diverse set of wardrobes as trendless-timeless items you can wear repeatedly.

We can begin with one of my favourite pieces ever, the iconic Burberry trench coat. The British brand which was founded in 1856 by Thomas Burberry produced the first-ever iconic trench coat in 1912. This piece was worn by British officers in the 1st World War. Burberry was the official provider of outfits to the British Army. Since the war, the piece has been on sale for the last 110 years and become one of the best-hit pieces of the brand. This piece can go with any of your outfits, you can wear it on your joggers on a casual day, over a work outfit or even to a night out. Very functional and classy. This item fits many and can easily be a piece for your capsule wardrobe.

How can I not mention Max Mara 101801 Icon Coat, which was brought to life back in 1981 in camel colour? This iconic and timeless piece was designed by the French couturier Anne-Marie Beretta. It was built with durability in the mind and was crafted in 168 minutes with 73 individual operations. My favourite point on this Icon Coat is the silhouette, a very seasonless and timeless vintage piece.

Let’s continue with one of my full-time comfortable preferences; the UGG boats. Did you know that these boats were originally created for men? Yes, they were created in Australia for adventure-loving men, however, their girlfriends liked them more. The first ever UGG was designed in 1978 with sheepskin. As a Vegan fashion purchaser, I am not a huge fan of animal products. Nevertheless, the UGG boots have been iconic (I will check if they have vegan alternatives too) and can be worn on multiple occasions with keeping you warm.

Followed up by a mini skirt. I believe they are a very fun and youthful design that can be styled with many different pieces. You can choose your colour of mini skirt based on your wardrobe’s colours. Talking about the mini skirt makes it impossible to mention the British designer Mary Quant whom I refer to as the re-founder and the person who popularised the mini skirt. She became an instrumental figure in London back in the 1960s. With thick leggings or socks, you can combine them easily and wear them in winter too. I believe Mary Quant's vintage skirt is timeless and if you can find one in a store make sure to get in touch with me too.

Let’s conclude our trendless vintage pieces article with my favourite accessories which is handbags of course.  There are so many handbags that I love but maybe we can have that in a separate article now let’s go with a classy piece designed by the Worldwide known French fashion house Dior. In 1995 the wife of the French president contacted Dior with a very specific request which was to design a custom bag for Princess Diana as a gift on her visit to Paris. Which later on became an iconic piece for the brand. The iconic bag was inspired by the upholstery on the Napoleon III chairs. Just like a posture of a princess, the bag couldn’t slouch.
