We’d like to introduce you to Pop Sick Vintage, where sustainability got married to creativity, who later on had a baby called Edgy meets Classic. This is not your average mainstream source for inspiration, this is something completely unique and that’s why we love them and their concept. The founders are Hungarians and their business is located in Slovakia. Founded by Kriszta back in 2015 along with her boyfriend, their idea became real since they both share the same passion for old stuff and sustainability. When stepping into the digital Pop Sick Vintage-world, here’s what you’ll find: Hand-picked vintage, reworked clothes, jewellery and as if that wasn’t good enough there’s also an assortment of home decor.
What about their ambition?
They’re all about encouraging all of us to keep loving and wearing our clothes, and to really take care of them so they last longer. But, they’re 100% aware of the fact that people love upgrading and changing their styles, that’s why they’re so committed to reworked vintage. When scrolling through their pieces of garments and accessories, the following is more or less guaranteed: You’ll get hit by (mostly) 90’s nostalgia and you’ll get more curious the more you scroll since their aesthetic way of doing slow-fashion business truly is one of a kind.
We love their transparency at their site, the way they’re sharing the ”behind the scenes” details regarding the reworked clothes and different techniques they’re using on a regular basis. Two of their frequently used techniques are tie-dye and embroidery, and who doesn’t love that!?
Pop Sick Vintage also highlights: THE SCISSOR. Never underestimate the scissor, it can seriously change clothing in so many ways. If you’re not into crazy colors, details and the 90’s fashion, don’t you worry. As I mentioned above, this is where edgy meets classic, so by this I mean you’re able to find more toned down pieces as well if that's your taste!
