A Sustainable Closet in 2020

Last summer I decided to establish a platform where others could learn about sustainable fashion. I’ve personally been experimenting with my interest in fashion and sustainability to see if they can go hand in hand the last few years and my conclusion is that they can. Why not share that with others? If others could see that you can enjoy clothes and at the same time be a conscious consumer maybe more people will make an effort to be environmental friendly?! That’s why I started this platform. During the autumn I’ve been sharing personal reflections, brands making an effort and I’ve been interviewing others to hear their view on sustainability and fashion.

I realized that I can’t, neither should, define what a sustainable closet is – that’s something we as a collective need to work on together. At my new updated platform I will continue to share posts on how to look after your style and the planet at the same time, which you will find under regular blog posts. At the sustainability page, I will share facts about the harm of fast fashion industry. If you’re a beginner that’s where to start, if you’re already devoted, please share it and educate others. In the interview series I want to give the brands making an effort a voice. To hear their stories and the struggles they have will educate you more about the industry and what is required to change it. I believe in conscious consumers but also conscious production. I will expand my interview series with not only brands and change makers, but also with stores and innovators.

In the outfit series I want to change the norm of what second hand and sustainable fashion is. I want everyone to see that it doesn’t have to be a certain style or material. Second hand basically means using what’s already been produced and shouldn’t there be enough clothes already produced that are fashionable? Feel free to contact me if you want to share your sustainable outfit!

This platform doesn’t belong to me. It’s a movement. It’s a movement of consumers, producers, researchers and innovators who are willing to transform an industry and it starts with your closet.
