A Sustainable Closet is finally starting to take form. Every week an edit is being made to improve the experience for readers visiting the website. The dialogues and interactions with brands, stores and change makers in Sweden have increased rapidly. Actually it is moving so fast that all the information and editing on the site, according to the action plan, hasn’t been made. But that doesn’t matter. A Sustainable Closet is not supposed to be perfect, neither does it have to evolve in a certain way. It’s primary purpose is to serve it’s readers. It’s actually all about you. What do you want to read about, what do you want to learn and anything else that can make it easier and more inspiring for you to be a part of a movement towards a sustainable closet and lifestyle.

Please, feel free to comment or get in touch if you have any suggestions or questions! Maybe your story or style can be featured and inspire others?

In April 5 Change Makers and 2 Stores have been featured in A Sustainable Closet!

The Change Makers this month are:

Maria Soxbo, an influencer and co-founder of Klimatklubben

Nicole Modigh, the co-founder of the brand Free Spirit Shaking Soul

Ann-Sofie Bergot, the co-founder of the store VARIÉ

Anna-Sara Hjertström, a fashion broker living in Italy

Vera Carlbaum Wrennmark, the chairperson of Red Cross Youth Organisation in Sweden

If you have read these interviews you will probably notice how differently people relate to their style and closet. Some have had a long relationship, others are new enthusiasts. Some are having an over-loaded closet, others are being minimalistic. Some remake their own clothes, others prefer to rent or exchange. Some only buy high quality vintage clothes, others love to explore the second hand market to continuously change their style. There’s no right and wrong here but all of them share the will to reduce their climate and environmental impact while supporting more sustainable businesses. It truly is an inspring journey to listen and write down their perspectives.

The stores this month are:

The online store VARIÈ - a perfect choice for the ones who wants someone to do the quality check for them

The online renting service Hack Your Closet - the alternative for those who want a new surprise every month

If you find it difficult to get what you’re looking for in your closest second hand shop, these two alternatives are very promising. I believe hearing the stories behind these companies are not only about reducing your environmental impact by using their services, but it’s also about seeing new business models coming up - changing the way we consume and relate to clothes!

April feels like spring for A Sustainable Closet - the starting point of a vision to make sustainable fashion easy and inspiring for all. If you enjoy this plattform, please sign up for Newsletters!
